116 students are provided with free education, vocational courses, hearing aids and medical care. |

Training |

The training is imparted not by sign language, but by modern methods of communication through individual and group hearing aids, audio-visual approach, speech therapy and lip reading. It helps the deaf and mute child to ' HEAR & SPEAK' which helps in integrating them in
normal schools. 107 chidren are integrated since the inception of KOSHISH in 1983. |

Festivals |

Major festivals irrespective of caste and creed are celebrated explaining the purpose behind it. viz. Rakhi, Ganpati, Gokul Ashtami, Dassera, Diwali, Christmas etc. |

Picnics & Tours |
|
|
|
Children are taken to various outstation places of history and to postoffice, bank, factory, hospitals to increase their general knowledge. |

|
Vocational Courses |
|
|
|
Students by rotation undergo training in various vocational courses. Courses are compulsory and free. Students appear for Government Certificate examinations. Courses are conducted in Computer, Screen Printing, Beautician course, Sewing & Embroidery, Yoga and Martial Art. |

Extra Curricular Activities |

We started Inter
Deaf School Cricket Tournament in the Year 2000. Shri Sunil Dutt, Dilip Vengsarkar, Javed Jaffrey, Aruna Irani and Sangita Ghosh (Pammi) graced the occassion. Initiated competitions of Kite making, flying & Rangoli. |

Awards |

Students of Koshish have received
402 awards in the academic and extra curricular activities. It is the highest number of awards received by any deaf school in the State.
Koshish received Dr. Ambedkar Award for the best institution in Maharashtra.
Also received ‘A’ grade from State Government. |

20,000 sq. ft institution designed and built by Mr. Shobhan Kothari is unique in architecture, situated off. Daftary Road, Malad East, Mumbai 400 097. It is very close to the railway station. It is perhaps the only institution in India providing comprehensive services to hearing impaired encompassing Awareness, Detection, Education, Vocational courses and Rehabilitation. |
